]]> When I was first introduced to the internet, the impression I was left with was none too good. Dial-up noise was too abrasive and loading times far too tedious for my child-mind and Lego and Micromachines seemed much more entertaining alternatives. It’s these recollections that remind me just how impressive an achievement the internet is.

I’m constantly astounded by how much I now rely on the resources found online. How did people find out about new music before? How did they keep in touch? How did they research their dissertations? Honestly, life before the internet sounds like an absolute ball-breaker.

Here in 2012, however, I’m able to listen to, and share, the work of a 19 year old Romanian producer in a matter of seconds. The man in question is Hazy Memories, creator of the Out of Place EP. Awash with soul sensibilities and laidback basslines, it’s a lovely little release. Sampled vocals filter through reverberating synths to create a very chilled out atmosphere, and it’s all available because of the internet.
