]]> Mark Lewis Heavenor is a Scottish guitarist, songwriter and composer based in London. This November sees the release of his self-titled debut EP, an introduction to a sound that draws from folk, bluegrass and even flamenco, juxtaposing angles and fluid melodies to create something unique. Add in a deep lyrical aspect inspired by a host of literary influences and the ambition of Heavenor’s sound is revealed.

Lead single ‘Young Boy’ is an indication of where the EP will lead. Together with Lo Barnes (backing vocals), Toby McLaren (keys and bass) and Chris Ellul of The Heavy (drums), Mark Lewis Heavenor weaves a slow burning folk rock sound that builds with subtle intensity as the song progresses. Taking inspiration from John Steinbeck’s East of Eden, the track explores the American mythology through archetypal characters, successfully blurring the line between rugged and warm to weave a striking mood. One full of human heart and stark open space, rendered melancholic with its reflective tone.

To build it back up again
