If you have visited our site in the past few months, you will more than likely be familiar with Quiet Constant Friends, a literary-themed compilation in support of the global literacy Worldreader. If you want to read about the project in more detail, you can visit our original post from back in October.

Because we still have a fair amount of tapes left, and obviously want to raise as much as possible for Worldreader, we have decided to run a special holiday offer. So, as suggested below in stylised sans serif, entering the code ‘HOHOHO’ at the checkout on Bandcamp will get you a handsome 40% off both digital and physical copies of the compilation. Quiet, Constant Friends: Beat Radio – Mexico City

Another day, another great track from our charity album, Quiet, Constant Friends. Today we unveil a cover of Jolie Holland’s ‘Mexico City’ by Beat Radio. The track is perfect for the project as it centres on Jack Kerouac and his first wife Edie Parker:

“Jack and Edie lying across my bed
Flying high like the spirits of the dead
The living and the dead”

The track’s artwork was done by London-based illustrator Henry McCausland.
