]]> Yes, we are finally joining in the summer mixtape fun. We are going to release this in two parts, roughly split into day and night. Hopefully, once you get both parts they can be played from start to finish and encapsulate the whole duration of a summer’s day in 50(ish) songs. We’ll go from bright morning to hot glorious day in Part I and then to campfire evening and weird night in Part Two.

We’ve tried to include new stuff but there are a few favourites thrown in. If any song has appeared on one of our mixes before, apologies but it probably just fitted in nicely to our idea of chronology. Hopefully it’s sunny with you this weekend to enjoy this.

]]> After doing our best of 2011 list, we thought it would be nice to do a huge round-up of all the best free releases from last year. We’ve tried to make the list as eclectic as possible, hopefully with something for everyone. As the bands are so varied I’ve put a “recommended if you like” note under each title to make it easier to find something you might like. A lot of these albums have the option to pay what you want for the download. If you like what you hear then send a few pounds/dollars, I’m sure these bands would appreciate it.
