We’ve talked about some of Gizeh Records’ artists before, with Conquering Animal Sound and Richard Knox & Frederic D. Oberland both firm favourites here at WtD. It looks like Mere may be about to be added to that list.
Mere are a three piece, consisting of Gareth Davies, Thomas Cruijsen and Leo Fabriek. Originally founded to create a soundtrack for a Dutch TV programme, they’ve since progressed into a brooding, ambient, dark-jazz outfit, and proceeded to write a soundtrack to the end of the world. It’s dark, dense and absolutely captivating.
