Veronica Everheart – Caught In Static

Last month New York’s Veronica Everheart unveiled her new EP, Cherry Picked via Terrible. It’s a collection of earnest, open-hearted indie rock songs that deal with relationships, mental health and self-worth with just a twist of wry sarcasm too. A combination which grapples with difficulties and coping mechanisms while being a ton of fun too.

The album is now getting a tape release via Ghost Mountain Records, so there’s no better time to get acquainted, and single ‘Caught in Static’ is the perfect introduction. The track pushes into doubt and self-destructive tendencies, but Veronica Everheart is not behold to such forces. Rather, any uncertainty or wistfulness are soon blown away by the sound’s sheer energy, Everheart’s vocals riding the momentum with cathartic glory.

I turned my back on logic
but you’re facing me
Still I’m seeing the most of myself
That I’ve ever seen
In the back seat
I’m crying
Over nothing or so I say

Cherry Picked is out now via Terrible and Ghost Mountain Records and available via the Veronica Everheart Bandcamp page.
