Lost Dog – DFT

Boston indie rockers Lost Dog have a new EP on the way. Don’t Feel That, the follow up to last year’s debut Precious Stuff, promises to see the band continue to craft diverse and eclectic indie rock songs that draw from a whole host of influences.

The EP’s first single is ‘DFT’, a track that the band say “grapples with the ways other people attempt to exert control over how we process our own complicated emotions.” Lyrically it’s pretty dark, referring to violence both physical and emotional.

Despite that serious subject matter, the song is tons of fun, built on slapped drums and high-energy guitars. Mixed by Andi Jones at So Big Auditory and mastered by Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering, it confidently walks the line between slick accomplishment and chaotically fuzzy power pop goodness. Fans of bands like Remember Sports (who Lost Dog play with very soon) will be smitten.

Don’t Feel That is due April 11th, and you can get ‘DFT’ from the Lost Dog Bandcamp page.
