Titus Andronicus are back! The New Jersey band have announced their fourth studio album, The Most Lamentable Tragedy, out this summer on Merge Records. Described as a five-part rock opera, the album will focus on the “transformative odyssey” of the unnamed protagonist who is jolted from deep despair after meeting his own doppelgänger. While this idea would sound interesting coming from any band, fans of Titus Andronicus will understand that such a project has the potential to be a very special undertaking in the hands of Patrick Stickles and co. (just look what they achieved with The Monitor). Be sure to watch the first single ‘Dime Out’ below and I will leave the last word to the press release:
“[The Most Lamentable Tragedy] reveals that +@ are what hardcore fans have said they are for years, and what the world must now recognize them to be: not merely the greatest rock and roll band of this era, but one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time.”
The Most Lamentable Tragedy will be released on Merge Records on the 28th July. You can pre-order it now.
