BBC Radio 1 – Benji B, Young Turks: Label Focus

Benji shines a light on the Young Turks label with a special show.

Young Turks are home to some of the UK’s biggest breakthrough artists of the last few years; The XX, SBTRKT, Jamie XX, Sampha, Twigs and Koreless. Benji B gave them the opportunity to well and truly show off on his label focus last night.

Presenting live takes from Koreless, featuring a string quartet, and performances from Sampha as well as a chat with the XX and a new Jamie XX release, it’s jam packed with absolute quality. To top it off, we’re told to expect LPs from both Koreless and Jamie XX in the foreseeable future. Hurrah!

The live performances are sublime, with Koreless really taking the opportunity to flesh out his sound in a grander setting and Sampha offering intimate takes on some of his favourites.
