Ice, Sea, Dead People

I haven’t heard from the noisy Brits Ice, Sea, Dead People since enjoying some demos a few years back (particulary ‘Hence Elvis’). They are back with a double a-side release and have an interesting concept for decorating the records. The band played the same two songs over and over in the at The Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston University and invited members of the audience to draw on the 7″ records there and then. The products, overseen by artists Daniel Eatock and Andy Holden, are much more effective than that may sound. See the video below to see how they did it.

Both songs bode well for feature releases, with the correct balance between noisy aggression and catchy hooks seemingly captured. The single is available through Lost Toy Records on an understandably limited release. Get them while they are hot! The band tour the UK in October:

29 September – BBC 6 Music Live Session and Interview, The Tom Robinson Show, 9pm
12 October – Norwich at Waterfront Studios (John Peel Festival of New Music)
24 October – Bristol at The Croft
26 October – London Launch Show
31 October – Glasgow at Bloc
