Over the last few months, life (and death) has well and truly taken over, limiting the amount of time I’ve had to post here. To try and compensate, here’s a super-post, highlighting some great electronic based material available for free, or cheap, on Bandcamp.
First up is Oliver Tank and his Dreams EP. Described as a mix between James Blake and Jose Gonzales, Dreams EP is full of hauntingly familiar vocals and absolutely saturated with emotion. Next up is an artist we’ve featured before. Arrange has featured on WtD on two occasions already (check here and here), and his work was also featured on our Keeping the voice box in working order mixtape. His latest outing, Sketches EP, sees him collaborating with Ricky Eat Acid. Arrange provides the vocals and a large chunk of the instrumentation, with Ricky Eat Acid chipping in with production. It’s as emotionally involved as we’ve come to expect from Arrange, and as with all his previous releases, is available on a name-your-price basis. Third on our list, and our only non-free entry to the grab-bag, is Sorrow with his Art Is Dead E.P. Fans of Shlohmo and Mount Kimbie, among others, will enjoy the rich textures on offer. Personal favourite, My Love, takes a melancholy piano sample and energises it with a consistent, driving beat. At only £3, it’s a bargain.
