Every now and then I’m struck by how my personal image of myself has failed to keep up with who I am. I still think of myself as the fresh faced 19 year old who wandered off to uni for the first time.
Pále is 18 year old Leo Marcus, five years my junior, and yet he already seems to be on the path to success. That enough reminds me that I’m no longer as young as I’d like to imagine. The fact that it’s so good, ruffles my feathers even more. What hope do I have when the youngsters are already better than me?
Released on bullet train records, The Yearn EP, features three tracks, all wandering off down slightly different paths. Title track, The Yearn, is the most ‘beat-centred’ of the three, Those Ships (my personal favourite), the most uplifting, and Ghosts the most obviously ‘post-dubstep’ influenced of the trio.
