Kwala – Projectionss

Kwala describes his music as a “unique blend of post-dubstep rhythms, deep ambient textures and elements of found sound.” A blend of Mount Kimbie and Clams Casino, if you’ll forgive the cheap (and  rather lazy) comparisons.

He’s also fairly busy, releasing two EPs in the space of a week at the tail end of 2011. The first, Projectionss EP, would have been included in our run down of the best free releases of 2011, had I discovered it sooner.  Shabang, a collection of new tracks and others that had been previously released through his Soundcloud account, followed a week later, costing a meagre $5.

Both Projectionss (here) and Shabang (here) are available for download on his Bandcamp page and, according to label Freeform Records, there’ll be a LP at some point this year. For a taster, have a listen to Tobias, from Projectionss, above.
