Last night I went to see Another Earth, the independent film by Mike Cahill and Brit Marling. The film itself has had mixed reviews and I can understand why. Certain elements are unclear and feel a little underdone but overall I would say it was a success. Marling was particulary good, especially considering it’s her first full role. It’s great to see a film with such a low budget get such a wide release.

One part that was spot on was the soundtrack by Brooklyn based band/composers Fall On Your Sword. It really has that classic space feel without coming across as cliche. Parts of it seem like a modern, fleshed out take on the work of Ursula Bogner. The soundtrack for Another Earth is on Spotify here.
