Okkervil River have today announced a follow-up to their 2007 festive release ’Golden Opportunities’, aptly named ’Golden Opportunities 2’. The original contained some very strong tracks including songs that I would rank amongst my favourites from the band (namely April Anne and Listening to Otis Redding During Christmas) and the band seem very pleased with #2, saying they like it better. Hopefully this collection of covers will not disappoint.
Because they are such lovely people GO#2 mix is completely free of charge and can be downloaded from their website now in a variety of formats. There’s nothing like a (free) seasonal release from one of my favourite bands to brighten up a rainy monday evening.
