Last night Ghosting Season played the Old Blue Last in London with our buddies Cloud Boat (who I will take this opportunity to remind everyone have their two track coming out on R&S, August 29th). The sound was appalling, the crowd were too hip to listen to the bands, talking loudly throughout the entire night, and I never did like techno much – so Ghosting Season weren’t exactly set up particularly well for me to enjoy their set. What actually happened, though, was I spent the entirety of it their 45 minute set with my jaw on the floor. The post-rock tendencies of their other project worriedaboutsatan are evident in their almost seamless set; with bowed guitars, tremolo picking and reverb drenched crescendos accompanying the usual techno staples. Excellent stuff.
