We posted about Cloud Boat at the end of March and were fortunate enough to get to see them supporting James Blake on the last night of his UK tour at the Globe, Cardiff last week.
For those not in the know, Cloud Boat are Tom, Sam and their army of pedals, boxes and instruments. They’ve supported James Blake (twice) and Mount Kimbie and have their first release due out in August on R&S Records, so on the balance of it you could say they’re going places fast.
Between the two of them, they managed to create a set both epic and subtle. The vocal work is quite frankly awe inspiring, and it’s obvious that Cloud Boat had earned their rather prestigious support slot even before they had started.
