Memotone is the moniker of William Yates, a West Country multi-instrumentalist who produces incredibly cerebral, layered music with both acoustic and electronic elements, and all from the comfort of his bedroom. Combining subtle guitar lines, field recordings and wonky electronic beats, Yates is a master craftsman of the loop. He is currently signed to Black Acre, who are releasing his Multicolour EP this month. Having already attracted the attention of Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, Memotone is definitely one to look out for.
