Mimas are a Danish band signed to the Big Scary Monsters label (along with Wake The Deaf favourites Tall Ships). There latest album Lifejackets sounds to me like an amalgamation of Oxford Collapse, Why? and Seattle’s BOAT. It’s definatley an interesting listen with a large array of instrumentation used to full effect. It almost strays into post-rock territory on occasions (a genre the band experimented with in earlier releases) but is far too silly and weird to ever get serious or overblown.
