This Will Destroy You will be releasing their second full length album, Tunnel Blanket, later this year. In recent interviews various members have come out with comments such as “Fuck post-rock” and stated that there’s “not a song on the album that we don’t like, or a song that we think is a filler song,” which altogether leads me to have absolutely no idea what to expect from the new album.
Thankfully they’ve helped to clear this up some what by releasing Communal Blood, the first single off of the new album. It’s far more dense and ominous than your typical post-rock fare, lending itself more to the droning of Sunn O))) than the guitars of Explosions In The Sky. Whether that’s a good thing or not is entirely up to you.
