Glen Hansard of The Frames is back with his sophomore solo record. The album, Didn’t He Ramble, has been produced by Thomas Bartlett (The National, Sufjan Stevens) and features guests such as Iron & Wine and Sam Amidon, which gives you a clue as to the sort of company Hansard keeps. The lead track ‘Winning Streak’ is a perfect example of a folk song made pop, a smooth and sentimental tale of goodhearted promises that are impossible to keep.
“Through summers long and winters cold,
may you always have someone good to hold
and make good fortune, win on every bet
and may your winning streak, may it never end”
