Will Sheff, frontman of Indie Rock favourites Okkervil River, has unveiled a new solo project called Lovestreams. He says that he has wanted to make the album for “years and years” and that it is an album which is entirely by and for himself. He says the album “doesn’t owe anything to music I’ve made before”. Having listened to the premiere track, Shock Corridor, I think it’s safe to say that the project will be a marked departure from that of Okkervil River, with a strong electro-pop vibe, although fans of the band will be happy to hear that Sheff’s distinctive vocals are still present. It sounds as though the whole thing will be available soon and for free, but in the meantime Shock Corridor is now available to stream via Soundcloud. Check it out in the player below.
