Graduation Mixtape

For some of you, this month brings with it a monumental change. As you prepare to stumble across the threshold into the “real” world, the stresses and strains of the last few years disappear. Memories of looming deadlines, suffocating workloads and painful schisms seem to fade away into insignificance, leaving only those things you will remember forever; the people you met, the things you did, and that time you woke up in a garden.

But now, all that is behind you, and soon you’ll have to start making real decisions, real commitments. Soon, you’ll no longer be a student, but a “real” person, whatever that means.

Yeah, but not quite yet. You still have time to celebrate.

With that in mind, we’ve put together a special mixtape for the occasion. Part nostalgia, part euphoria, a backward glance at what has been and and an embrace of what’s to come, our Graduation Mixtape is as follows:

  1. Harmonics – Fridge
  2. Hey Sparrow – Peaking Lights
  3. Santa Fe – Beirut
  4. T=0 – Tall Ships
  5. When The Past Was Present – John Talabot
  6. Infinity Pool – Sand Circles
  7. Ulnastricter (LA2019 Remix) – Three Trapped Tigers
  8. Vehl – Kidnap Kid
  9. Fantastix – Machinedrum
  10. Nigeria What? – Débruit
  11. Low Life (Featuring Steffaloo) – Tours
  12. Weekend in the Tropics – Groundislava
  13. Sex – Slugabed
  14. You Know You Like It (Raffertie Remix) – AlunaGeorge
  15. All Blue – Maribou State
  16. FUSE – Hudson Mohawke

As always, remember to treat this mix as it is intended, as a nudge towards some great artists that you may not have heard, or just not heard in ages, and who deserve some recognition for the fantastic stuff that they do. So if you like the tracks, show your appreciation by buying something. That way, the artists can keep doing what they do and we can keep enjoying it.
