Moved to June to make way for the Olympics, Field Day 2012 played out under grey clouds last Saturday. Acts on show included big names such Beirut (great dancing), Grimes and SBTRKT, along with Wake the Deaf favourites such as Koreless, Blanck Mass and Errors.

Plenty of fun was had by all and plenty of warm, over-priced beer was drunk. Highlights included the tombola, which produced an enjoyable round or two of battleships. Thankfully, the organisers also seemed to have ironed out many of the issues that have blighted the festival over it’s first half a decade. For the first time, there were toilets and bars aplenty, with absolutely no queues worth speaking of.

On the music front, there was one clear winner for most enjoyable set of the day. Hudson Mohawke brought such energy and entusiasm to his set that it was impossible not to join in.
