Four Tet – Locked

This track has been floating around for a little while now, but I find it so mesmerising that I couldn’t resist posting it. Released on his own Text Label, Hebden’s newest offering is consistent with his gradual movement towards a more club-like sound, and for the first two minutes appears to be an exercise in pure dancefloor rhythms, with little else of interest. Luckily, from the two minute mark onwards, wonderful things start happening. The synth line wormed its way into my brain a few days ago and has not stopped bouncing around the inside of my skull since.

For fans of vinyl, Locked is available as a 12″ here. It will also feature on Fabriclive 59, which is out on Monday.
