I’d always presumed Her Name is Calla were just another Explosions in the Sky clone, easy on the ear but lacking any really original ideas. I have no idea how or why I formed that opinion having never properly listened to them and I’m glad to admit I was hopelessly and completely ignorant.
Her Name is Calla had a very busy 2010 releasing the Long Grass EP and their debut full length The Quiet Lamb, which lasts a monumental 80 minutes. It’ll take a while to sink in but it’s worth the wait. Both are available on Spotify.
